Dolores Rae Ferrell 83, a resident of The Dalles, died Friday November 22 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 22, 1930 in Portland, Oregon to Glenn V. Rice and Irene Rice.
She attended Jefferson High School in Portland, Oregon and attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. She married Charles Ferrell May 18, 1948. They were married 64 years until her death.
She worked for West Coast Telephone Company in Newberg and McMinnville, Oregon as a ring down operator. She went on to become a bookkeeper for San Juan Airlines, Air San Juan Airlines in Friday Harbor, WA.
She enjoyed sewing and knitting. She is survived by her husband Charles Ferrell, The Dalles; son Craig Ferrell and wife Ginene; son Mark Ferrell Lyle, WA; son Allen Ferrell and wife Miralee; and daughter Debra Mulligan and husband Brian, Redmond, WA. She had 4 grand sons, 3 grand daughters, 1 great grand son, and 2 great grand daughters, and niece Francene Wilhelm, The Dalles; nephew, Fred Coleman, The Dalles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 niece Cheryl Oldman. A service was held by family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Dalles.
