Ruby Beulah (Moore) Ost, was born in Bend, Oregon on November 27, 1913. She was the youngest of twelve children. Her parents, George Lemon Moore and Vina Olive (Powers) Moore also raised three grand daughters with her from childhood on a farm east of Bend, Oregon. Ruby graduated from Bend High School, (1930-31). She worked many years as a waitress in the Seattle, Washington area belonging to the Culinary Union for 37 years.
She became an Auxiliary Lady of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in 1970 and a member of The Dalles Senior Services Center from 1980 to date. She lived in the Dalles, Oregon (1975-) and played pinochle and bingo every Tuesday and Wednesday at the Eagles Lodge using her widows card from beloved husband, Anders Bert Ost.
Ruby is survived by one daughter, Dixie Amet White and companion Charles Estes. Grandsons, George Solverson and wife Pat, Boise, Idaho; Rodney Solverson and great grandson, Riley Solverson, Ellensburg, WA; Great grandaughter, Casia (Solverson) Lewis and husband, Brian, BoiseID. Nieces; Irene Sorrels, KelIisviIle, CA, Avis Krogh, Escondido, CA, Dolly and John Johnson, Lewiston, ID, Darlene Shelley, Jasper, OR, Carolyn and Robert Harris; Salem, OR. Nephews; Earl Holleman, Stayton, OR Ben Garr, Bothell, WA, Robert and Mary Garr, Renton, WA. Many great nieces and nephews.
Internment at Wilhiamette National Cemetary next to husband, Anders Bert Ost with a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to local Animal Shelters.
