Nancy James Watson, 95, was born on July 4, 1918, along with her identical twin, Jean Harold Watson, in Portland. Nancy inspired family and friends with her activism and passionate commitment to the environment, which grew out of her love for old growth trees and the Oregon Coast. She championed organic food and credited this to her long life. Simple living was Nancy's utmost goal.
Survivors are a daughter, Umiokalani and Jose Luis. Twins Nancy and Jean (predeceased 2004) were reunited on Dec. 11, 2013. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, in Oddfellows Three Mile Cemetery, The Dalles. Contributions in memory may be made to an environmental organization of your choice.
