Millie Nagel, 85, a long-time resident of Wishram, Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Oregon.
Millie was born Sept 7, 1928 on a mountain in Ione, Washington to Effie (Rathbone) and Oscar True. The dairy farm her father purchased in Roy, Oregon when she was 11, was her dream come true. She truly loved everything about the farm life.
In 1948 she married George Nagel and they moved to Wishram, Washington where they raised their 2 children. Millie worked as chef at a railroad restaurant called "The Beanery" for over 20 years. She was an active member of the church and community receiving the "Community Member of the Year" award. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved helping others. She also enjoyed gardening (especially roses), sewing, ceramics, and having bible study classes at her home,
Millie is survived by her son and daughter, respectively, Stuart Nagel of The Dalles Oregon, and Patti Shervey of Gladstone, Oregon. Also 3 grandchildren, Amy Augustus and Rachelle and Ryan Shervey, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home, Pastor Charles Hargrove officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
