Sharyn Kaye Anderson was born in Medford, Oregon the daughter of the late Duane Wisely and Dolores “Bismark” Wisely.
Sharyn was the oldest of five children in a Navy family and grew up living several places across the globe. She graduated from high school in Virginia and then returned to Oregon to attend the University of Oregon, where she studied English. She met her husband of 39 years, Bill Anderson in Eugene, Oregon and the two were married in 1974.
Before her retirement in 2010, Sharyn worked for Columbia Gorge Community College as a Financial Aid Counselor. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was previously active in the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy research, Irish history and culture, sharing a cup of tea with a friend, and had a great love for animals.
She is survived by her husband Bill Anderson of Chestertown, MD , one daughter, Erin Anderson and husband Jonathan Schultz and two granddaughters, Grace Anderson-Schultz and Claire Anderson-Schultz.
A memorial service will be held in Chestertown, MD on Saturday, December 28 at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church. A memorial service for friends and family in Oregon will be held in The Dalles at a future date.
