Sharon Lee Ruvolo
Feb. 5, 1926 - Jan. 27, 2013
Sharon Lee Ruvolo, 86, long time resident of The Dalles, Ore. passed away quietly in Wenatchee, Wash. on Sunday, January 27th, 2013.
Born Sharon Lee McCullugh, February 5, 1926 in North Platte, Nebraska, she married Joseph A. Ruvolo on December 9th, 1943, then residing in the Portland area.
Sharon spent the war years as a riveter, welder and crane operator in the Portland Shipyards. She was then a homemaker and volunteered for several organizations in The Dalles.
Sharon was known for her needlepoint, ability to pick the horses, luck at the casinos and a feisty personality that matched her red hair.
The River West Senior Living staff found that she had an uncanny ability to succeed at bingo, one of her favorite pastimes.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, infant child Anthony and one granddaughter.
She is survived by a daughter Jeanne (Steve) Hanson of Wenatchee, Wash., a son Daniel Ruvolo of The Dalles, Ore., and two grandchildren.
Sharon will be greatly missed by her family and friends in The Dalles and her new-found friends and caregivers in Wenatchee.
A memorial service for Sharon will be held Thursday, February 7th, 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A reception will be held in the parish center following the service.
