Eileen Troxel, 74, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center, in The Dalles, Ore., due to complications from long-term rheumatoid arthritis.
She was born Aug. 21, 1938, in Portland, Ore., the daughter of Julius and Evelyn Lampert. She was married to Edward John Troxel Dec. 29, 1958. He preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 2012. They were married for 55 years. She was mother to Jeannette Troxel, who preceded her in death in 2003.
She grew up as the youngest of seven children on a gladiola farm in Corbett, Ore. She attended grade school in Troutdale and went to St. Mary’s High School in Portland, Ore.
She enjoyed going to Bible study, spending time gardening and loved going to Maupin and being down by the Deschutes River.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Benjamin Troxel, his wife Yvonne, children Erika and Evan; Marcia Troxel-Burford, her husband Mike, children Maurice and Hannah; Mark Troxel, his wife Marcy, children Sara, Aaron and Paul; and great-grand-children Audrey and Jackson.
Rosary services will be Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., at St. Henry Catholic Church, 346 NW 1st St Gresham, Ore. Funeral services and Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at St. Henry Catholic Church.
