Christopher Harold McLaughlin, 64, of Cove, Ore., died Jan. 28, 2013, at his residence.
Known as Chris, he was born Sept. 1, 1948, in The Dalles, Ore., to Harold and Virginia (Remington) McLaughlin. He was raised in The Dalles, where he attended school and graduated from Wahtonka High School. He attended Eastern Oregon University.
He married Nanci McLaughlin on April 2, 1976. He was employed by Eastern Oregon University in the ground maintenance department, and recently retired.
He enjoyed horseback riding and horse training. He enjoyed being in the mountains, hunting, spending time camping and riding horses with his family. He was an active member of the Imbler Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife Nancy, Cove; daughter Sharra McLaughlin, Summerville, Ore.; mother Virginia McLaughlin, La Grande, Ore.; siblings and their spouses, Gwen and Curt Baker, Soap Lake, Wash.; Colleen and Lindsey Wyllie, Mount Vernon, Ore.; and Duane and Nancy McLaughlin, Hood River, Ore.; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold McLaughlin.
