Clifford Satanus, 53, a resident of Tygh Valley, Ore., and tribal member of the Yakama Nation, died at home Saturday, June 29, 2013.
He was born May 19, 1960, in The Dalles, Oregon to Theodore and Janice (Farmer) Satanus. He was raised and educated in Tygh Valley, attending Tygh Valley Grade School and graduating from South Wasco County Union High School where he played basketball, football and baseball.
He spent most of his working years in the logging industry.
He coached Tygh Valley Little League and Deschutes Little League. He enjoyed coaching baseball, fishing, playing pool and traveling to and attending sports events.
Survivors include his mother, Janice Satanus, sister Thelma S. Alsup, brother Ross Alsup, sister Chris Lewis and brother Dwight Satanus; nieces Trisha Kramer, Amanda Lewis and Chelsey Alsup and nephews Kurtis Satanus and Tyler Alsup.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Satanus, brother Roger Satanus and sister Lorelei Satanus.
Family dressing services will be Tuesday, July 2, at 4 p.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 3, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Wasco County Fairgrounds. Burial will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Wamic, Ore.
