Edward Rae Combs, 55, passed away February 9, 2013. He was born March 5, 1956 in Portland, Oregon to James and Shirley Combs, the second of three children.
A longtime resident of Mosier, he attended Mosier School and Wahtonka High School in The Dalles, Oregon.
On July 29, 1976 he married the love of his life, Patricia Rakes, in Goldendale, Washington.
Edward and Patricia moved to Mosier and started a family. They had two daughters, Shirley and Amy.
He worked many jobs over the years from the railroad to the Elliotts’ tree farm.
Edward’s favorite thing to ever do was ride his custom-made Harley. He enjoyed riding at Fossil, the Cherry Festivals and with friends. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
He was proceeded in death by his brother-in-law Stephen L. Gast Oct. 13, 2009; his father, James Walter Combs May 18, 2012; and his best friend Douglas Newt Holt Feb. 28, 2010.
He is survived by his wife Patty of 37 years, his daughters Shirley Wallace and Amy Combs, mother Shirley Combs and sister Patricia Combs, son in laws Kevin Wallace and Anthony Catron, and all his grandkids Alyse, Sadie, Brittni, Trinton, Tiffany, Courtany and Trinity and many nieces and nephews.
Private cremation was done in Portland.
There will be a celebration of his life Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Rowena Park in The Dalles at noon with a balloon launch in his honor.
