David Scott Killian of The Dalles, Ore., died April 24, 2013, with his family by his side, after being taken off life support.
He was born in 1958 at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Ore. After moving around in Oregon with his father’s Union Pacific Railroad transfers, he met his wife Kelly (Surber) in North Platte, Neb.
He worked in The Dalles at the railroad tie plant for several years prior to being put on disability due to kidney failure in 1995 and complications from his diabetes.
He is survived by his wife Kelly, his mother Melita Killian Willett, two sisters, LeeAnn Young and JoDee Morris, three daughters Jessica, Leanne Klaviter and Rebecca (Becky), one step-sister Pat Boose and two step-brothers Ken Willett and Gene Willett, and four grandchildren Dakota, Alexa, Markus and Jaxson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond D. Killian.
A memorial celebration of life gathering will be planned in June. Contact any family member for information.
