Walter Eugene “Gene” Colver, 87, a resident of Wishram, Wash., died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at a local care center.
He was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Omak, Wash., to Joseph and Gertrude (Van DelIen) Colver. He was raised and educated in Omak and Kent, Wash., graduating from Kent High School.
On December 22, 1946, he and Donna “Peaches” Williams were married. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corp. He worked as a conductor for Burlington Northern Railroad for 47 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and reading history books. He is survived by his step-sister Peggy Hutchinson, Bremerton, Wash.; sons Michael, Wishram; Monty and his wife Shirley, Moses Lake, Wash.; Craig and his wife Jill, Pasco, Wash.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
