Carol B. Hardin, 97, died May 24, 2013, at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Ore.
She was born May 26, 1915, in St. Helena, Calif., the ninth of 10 children born to Albert and Ethel Woodworth.
She grew up and lived in Napa and Sonoma counties in California, all but the last four years, in which she resided with her daughter Marilyn and husband Donald Petersen in The Dalles, Ore.
She married Theodore M. Hardin in 1932 and with him raised four children. She was instrumental in running a summer recreation program for children in the 1950s in St. Helena. She enjoyed family activities, music, gardening, camping, was an avid reader and was active in her church at St. Helena.
She is survived by her daughters Marilyn and her husband Donald Petersen, The Dalles, Ore.; Nadine Koenig, Santa Fe, N.M., and her son Dennis Hardin and his wife, Maria, Sonoma, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A private celebration of her life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
