Jon Edward McCurdy passed away on October 21st, 2013 in The Dalles, Oregon.
He was born June 22, 1956 in The Dalles to Roy and Joanne McCurdy. Jon graduated from Dufur High School in 1974. He worked for Mt. Fir Lumber Co, Hanel Lumber Co. and The Dalles Aluminum Plant before buying Poppys Mini-Mart in 1997, which he operated with his wife Melia as well as Nobody's Business Trophies.
Jon enjoyed spending his time outdoors hunting and fishing with his family, was a long time bowler, and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Dufur Ranger teams which he followed closely. He also enjoyed spending time with his family,
especially hunting with his grandsons.
Jon is survived by his wife Melia McCurdy, daughters, Moryah Olson (husband Marty) of Dufur, Jaclyn
McCurdy and Jamie McCurdy of Wasco; step son Eric Wilmarth of Bremerton Wa,
father Roy and step mom Dottie of The Dalles, sisters Rita
Correy of Troutdale, Joyce Dale (husband Mark) of The Dalles, Aunt Jayne Goodwin and Aunt Terry
Simpson of Crescent, grandson Nolan Olson, Eric R Wilmarth, great grandson Mikey
Brenneise and 3 nieces and a great niece. He was preceded in death by mother Joanne Turner and step father Jim Turner.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at 1 p.m. at The Dalles Eagles, 2006 W 7th Street. Come share your favorite memory.
