David D. Perkins, 67, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., died Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at a local hospital.
He was born Sept. 16, 1945, in Olean, N.Y., the youngest of three children to Bernard and Donna (Yeager) Perkins. As a military child, he was raised and educated in various parts of the world. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in Ramstein, Germany.
He enjoyed flying radio controlled airplanes and helicopters.
He is survived by his wife Vicki, The Dalles, Ore.; sister Friday Pfiefer, Beaverton, Ore.; brother Bernard Perkins, Rochester, N.Y.; children Tim and Beth Perkins, Vancouver, Wash.; Lee and Jennifer Perkins, The Dalles, Ore.; Christine Carney, Walnut Grove, Miss.; Aaron and Heather Perkins, Gresham, Ore.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
