William Manvil “Bill” Troxel passed away March 18, 2014, at a local care facility at the age of 64.
Bill was born September 24, 1949, in Los Angeles, Cali. to Manvil and Mary (Watson) Troxel. He was raised in Mosier by his father and new mother, Virginia.
He graduated from Wahtonka High School in 1967. After attending college for a couple of years, Bill moved to Prescott, Ariz. where he worked in the sheet rock trade.
While there, he married Suzie Pehl. The couple had two children and eventually moved to Hood River. Bill later moved to The Dalles where he lived until his passing.
Bill’s hobbies included golf, playing pool, Oregon Duck sports, reading, spending time with his beloved cat Blackjack, and he was an avid letter writer.
His affiliations included the Eagles, Moose, and Sons of the American Legion lodges.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manvil, his mother, Mary, and his step-mother, Virginia.
Survivors include his sister, Victoria Johnson and husband David of Prescott, Ariz.; his brother, David Troxel and wife Donna of The Dalles, Ore.; his son, Brian Troxel and girlfriend Trish Clayton of San Francisco, Calif.; his daughter, Patti Reilly and husband Phillip of Vancouver, Wash.; his son, Aaron Troxel and wife Shannon of Hood River, Ore.; numerous grandchildren and many other close relatives.
Services will be held April 12, 2014, at 11am at Spencer, Libby and Powell, 1100 Kelly Ave. in The Dalles. Memorials may be made to Columbia Gorge Cat Rescue, PO Box 231, Hood River, Ore. 97031.
