With heavy hearts and loving memories, the family of Marcella wishes to share her passing on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles.
Marcella was born August 14, 1929 in Richland, Washington to Marcel and Marie Dupuis. The sixteenth child of nineteen siblings was married to Bill Cox for forty-one years. They had lived in the Wamic area at Cody Logging Camp since 1949 then moved to Tygh Valley in 1968. Marcella worked at the Senior Center in Tygh Valley, preparing meals for a crowd of local friends. She moved to Cox’s Country Care assisted living in April 2013 and enjoyed the constant attention and life of leisure.
Her late husband Bill died in 1989.
She is survived by her daughter Reta (Ken) Alford of Hermiston; sons Rick (Susan) Cox of Keizer; Billy (Colette) Cox of Wamic and Benny (Delta) Cox of Tygh Valley. Marcella has twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Surviving also are a brother, Eugene (May) Dupuis of Federal Way, WA, and a sister Elaine Beedle of Juneau, Alaska.
Private cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
There will be no services at her request.
Donations may be made to the Senior Center in Tygh Valley for their furnace fund in memory of Marcella.
