Olivera Klindt Hall, a resident of The Dalles, Oregon passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at a local care center. She was 87 years of age.
Olivera was born August 8, 1926 in Stevenson, Washington the first of five children to Fred and Effie (Evans) Oaks. She was raised and educated in The Dalles, graduating from The Dalles High School in 1946.
Olivera managed the Granada Theater for many years and also worked at the Handout.
She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Old Pioneers, Hazel Rebekah Lodge, VFW Auxiliary,
Mrs. VFW Auxiliary for State of Oregon 2006 and 2007, and the Swap and Swing Square Dance Club. She helped start the Girls Softball League, was a Boy Scout Leader for fifty-five years, promoted gun safety for forty-five years, was a 4-H cooking and sewing instructor, swim teacher for over fifteen years, was a volunteer cook and kitchen helper for the Forest Service and volunteered at The Oregon Veterans Home and Columbia Basin.
She was preceded in death by siblings Kenneth and Donna Oaks.
Olivera is survived by her husband John Bruce Hall, sons Dale Klindt and Dick Klindt and his wife Lorraine all of The Dalles, Oregon; daughters Mary Childers and her husband Tom of Dufur, Oregon and Melody Pinto and her husband Phil; Brother Melvin Oaks and his wife Mary of Yakima, Washington and sister Lois Richards and her husband Pete of Irrigon, Oregon; granddaughter Deana Confer and great grandson Dustyn Confer; step children Jim Hall and his wife Kathi; Chet Hall and his wife Lilly; Steve Hall and his wife Rochelle and Sandy Dean and her husband Andy. Step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 10:30 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Odd Fellow Cemetery, 1100 W. 18th, The Dalles.
