Lois Mae “Brooke” Misener, a resident of Rufus, Oregon died at home Sunday, July 27, 2014. She was 81 years of age.
Lois was born June 6, 1933 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Thomas and Verga (Booth) Nelson. She was raised and educated in Idaho moving to Salt Lake City, Utah at age 15. Lois lived in Washington for several years and then moved to Roseburg, Oregon where she attended Umpqua Community College. On June 9, 1986 she and Richard Misener were married in Reno, Nevada. They resided in Redding, California and then Roseburg, Oregon where she was involved in property management. She then lived in Vancouver, Washington and for the past sixteen years she resided in Rufus, Oregon. Lois enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Misener of Rufus, Oregon; her children Diana Sue Richardson of Roseburg, Oregon; Judy Ann Miller of Bellingham, Washington; Ronnie Mentzer of Tenmile, Oregon and Richard Charles Mentzer of Camas, Washington and; her brother L.G. Nelson. Eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Rufus Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Heart of Hospice. Lois, you will be missed.
