Lyle R. Smith, a resident of The Dalles, Oregon died on August 18, 2014.
Lyle was born November 1, 1959 in Portland, Oregon to Charles and Thais Smith. He attended school in Beaverton, Oregon, obtaining his GED later in life.
He was was employed by Luhr Jensen and The Dalles Marble and Granite, both of which he enjoyed. He loved to fish and hunt with his father, learning to fish on the Hood River where the family owned a cabin. NASCAR was of particular interest, and he was looking forward to going to Arizona in November. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Lyle is survived by a daughter, Beverly Smith, Portland, OR; a step daughter, Johanna King, Portland, OR; two sisters, Bev Herreid, Portland, OR, and Donna McCoy, The Dalles Oregon; and an uncle, Noel Neal, Hood River, OR.
He has been cremated and his ashes will be scattered by the family on his birthday at the beach, a place he loved.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent De Paul, or Salvation Army.
