Jack Clyde Snyder, 83, a resident of The Dalles, Oregon died at home January 10, 2014.
Jack was born May 8, 1930 in Portland, Oregon the second of four children to Lester and Genevieve (Flitcraft) Snyder. He was raised and educated in Portland graduating from Jefferson High School in 1948. He then attended Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska and Iowa State University in Iowa City, Iowa. He was president of the Methodist Fraternity in college.
Jack came to The Dalles in 1963 and taught Arts and Crafts at Wahtonka High School. He enjoyed gardening, pottery, stained glass and travel.
He is survived by his wife Margaret of The Dalles, Oregon; sons Brian and partner Lisa of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Scott and wife Barbara; Matt and wife Coni and Jack, all of The Dalles, Oregon; grandchildren Joshua of The Dalles, Oregon and Kimberly of San Antonio, Texas; brother Chuck Lewis of Redland and sister Lynne Porter of Vancouver and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
It was Jack’s wishes that no service beheld. In lieu of flowers please donate in Jack’s name to your favorite charity.
