Eula J. Meader, 89, passed away peacefully on June 26, with family and friends nearby. She grew up in and around The Dalles, graduated from The Dalles High School in 1942, worked in the Bremerton Washington ship yards as a crane operator during WWII, and married Jack Murray in 1945.
They had four sons and moved to Alaska in the mid 1960’s. When her husband passed away in 1985, she returned to Oregon, married Ray Meader in 1988 and they lived at Pine Hollow until 1993 before moving permanently back to The Dalles. Eula’s four sons, Charlie, wife Pam, Neal, wife Sheila, Larry, wife Sandy and Pat, wife Charlotte, all still make their homes in Alaska. Her stepson, Dan, wife Janet, make their home here in The Dalles. Eula is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Her brother, Eugene Johnson and wife Delores also live in The Dalles.
At her request there will be no memorial service. Anyone seeking to remember her is encouraged to make a contribution to Home At Last in her name.
