Geraldine L. Stevens passed away May 27, 2014. She was born in Portland, OR, April 22, 1937, to Finis Goggin and Frances (White) Goggin.
Geraldine was a long-time resident of Mosier. She was born in Portland and spent summers on her grandparent's farm in Mosier.
She graduated from Beaverton High School in 1955 and served in the US Army WAC as a draftsman. In 1960, she married Albert Stevens and they purchased a home in The Dalles. They had two sons, Todd, and Jay, and took over operation of the family cherry orchard near Mosier. In 1970, they built a home on the farm and moved to Mosier in 1971. Geraldine was active in the Cub Scout and 4-H organizations for many years. In later years, she enjoyed painting landscapes. After retirement, she and Albert enjoyed travel and embarked on numerous cruises to locations around the world and even an African safari. Most recently, she moved to Cascadia Assisted-Living Center in Sandy, OR and made many friends there. She passed away after a long illness.
Survivors include Todd Stevens, Mosier (son), Jay Stevens, Mosier (son), Bayly Stevens, Mosier (granddaughter), and Josie Stevens, Mosier (granddaughter).
A celebration of Geraldine's life will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 2pm-4pm at the Mosier Grange Hall. A potluck lunch will be served.
