Arlene Grace (Aas) Fisher Kerbs, beloved mother of Sonja Farrell and Edward (Kristy) Kerbs, passed away on May 13, 2014, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. The oldest of three children, she was born on October 10, 1931, in Cass County, Minnesota to Ruth Hauge and Orville Aas. She grew up in The Dalles, OR, graduating from The Dalles High School. Arlene worked as a secretary most of her life. She was a longtime resident of Milwaukie, OR, and was living in Hillsboro, OR, at the time of her passing. Arlene was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. She was very proud of her Norwegian heritage and was the family lefse maker. In addition to her two children, Arlene is survived by her sister, Evelyn (Gilbert) Clayton and family; brother Orville (Sharon) Aas and family; grandchildren Alaina Farrell, Erin and Dayton Kerbs; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of Arlene’s life at 1 PM will follow the private interment of her ashes in the Memorial Gardens at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, OR, on June 28, 2014.
