Puavao Faaiu, of Samoan ancestry, died June 19, 2014 in The Dalles, Oregon. She was born February 25, 1928 in American Samoa to parents, Selu and Faauila Enesi.
Puavao was a devoted mother and wife, and cherished her greatest role as a grandmother to her two grandchildren. She found true joy in the simple things in life, her companionship with her husband, her friendships with her family and fellow church members, and relationships with her co-workers and the people she cared for at work. Puavao loved spending time in her garden and sharing the fruits and vegetables she grew.
She is survived by her husband Tikeli Faaiu, her sons Taylor Faaiu, Jr. Faaiu, Epi King, Errol Griffith, Kevin Clauson, her daughters Jane Griffith, June Clauson, grandchildren Elizabeth Hawks and Theodore Clauson, sisters Salome King and Aofia Enesi, brothers Peniamina Enesi, Enesi Enesi Jr., and Olioli Enesi and her countless nieces and newphews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 in the SDA gymnasium at 10 a.m. with a viewing beginning at 9 a.m., 3339 E. 13th St., The Dalles, Oregon.
