It was in the forested hills and hidden fields above Lyle, Washington where she spent her teenage years. She loved riding horses and taking care of animals, while attending Lyle High School and working at her mother’s restaurant, The Pancake House.
After high school graduation, she accepted a job with the Army Corps of Engineers and lived in Dallesport, Washington. She traveled through southern Europe. She married in 1988 and settled first in Lyle, Washington, before moving to The Dalles, Oregon.
For the majority of her career she worked for Children Services for the state of Oregon. In recent years, however, she became a caseworker for Adult Protective Services where she enjoyed the fieldwork of investigating cases and helping those in need.
Indeed, caring for others was a defining feature of her personality. Her home was full of love, laughter, and her smile. Her joy will be missed.
