Nadene Joye Tolman, 77, of Redmond, Oregon, passed away May 17, 2014 in Redmond. She was laid to rest at Redmond Memorial Cemetery on May 21st.
Born May 28, 1936, in Almena Kansas, she was the daughter of Roydon Lucas and Hazel Hawks. While still a baby, Joye moved with her family from Kansas to Turner, Oregon, near Salem, toward the end of the Dust Bowl era. As an adult Joye resided in Vale, Nyssa, Ontario, Redmond, as well as other towns in Oregon. She co-managed motels in The Dalles, and Biggs Junction for nearly two decades. Joye was loved for her pleasant personality, sense of humor, and beauty: inside and out.
She is survived by her husband Floyd Tolman of Redmond, Oregon; brother Ken Lucas of Fruitland Idaho; children Darren McLay of Bend, Steve McLay of Corvallis, and Mark McLay of Santa Rosa California; stepchildren Gordon Tolman of Eugene, Oregon, Roger Tolman of Fruitland, Idaho, Lori Chamberlain of Vale, Oregon; grandchildren Tiffany McLay, Kristina Castro; step-grandchildren Jeremy Chamberlain, Jason Chamberlain, Derek Chamberlain, Garrett Chamberlain, Josh Tolman, Adam Tolman, Collin Tolman and 14 great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Roydon Jr. and Donald; LeRoy McLay, the father of her children; son Bret McLay; and step-grandchild Travis Tolman.
