Christine R. "Tiny" Finley (81) of Toppenish passed away on Saturday May 24, 2014 in Wapato.
She was born in White Swan on September 10, 1932 to Alfred and Sophia (Hoptowit) Blodgett. Christine was raised and educated in White Swan attending the White Swan Mission and White Swan Schools. She married James T. Finley and they raised their family in the Wapato area.
She worked in fruit warehouses and was one of the original employee's of Mt. Adams Furniture working in the mill. She also worked for Baileys in Yakima as a seamstress.
In the early 1970's she moved to The Dalles where she met her companion, Raul Jaime. She worked for Stadlemans Warehouse for 20 years, retiring in the early 1990's. During her early retirement she enjoyed canning, sewing clothes and gardening.
In 2003 she moved to Toppenish. Christine enjoyed spending time with her dear dog, Valerie.
She is survived by three daughters, Teresa Ashue-Finley of Toppenish, Cheryl Gonzalez of Bellevue and Sarah Finley of Browning, MT; two sons, John Finley of The Dalles and Maynard Olney of Wapato; 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Two brothers, James Blodgett of White Swan and David Blodgett of Yakima.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, James A. Finley and nine siblings and her companion. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-7 PM at Colonial Funeral Home in Toppenish with recitation of the rosary at 6PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in White Swan with interment to follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park west of Wapato.
