Born during a severe spring Wichita, Kansas thunderstorm June 7, 1928, Betty’s birth was recorded the following day.
She was born to Ray L. and Lucile Potter Carr, joining one older brother, Omer C. Carr.
During the Great Depression, the family, accompanied by paternal grandparents, A.O. and Ina Scaggs Carr, relocated to The Dalles, OR.
February 9, 1947 Betty married John Edward Moore of The Dalles. Two daughters were born to this union.
She had a career with The Dalles General Hospital (later MCMC) in the O.B. department that spanned 30 years.
Betty was also an accomplished seamstress, artist and crafter. She loved being creative and was an avid outdoors woman who enjoyed camping, fishing, water skiing, four wheeling and snowmobiling.
In her retirement, she enjoyed wintering in Arizona.
She is survived by long time companion and sweetheart, Ray Laue; daughters Linda (Amos) Pishion, The Dalles Ore. , and Kathleen (Jim) Cantrell, Dufur Ore.; grandchildren Kevin (Laura) Pishion, Melissa Pishion, Annelie Cantrell, Julie (Steven) Hunt and Scott Cantrell.
Betty is also survived by her great grandchildren, Morgan Douthit, Storm Douthit, Shahalee, Shyanne and Sage Hunt; her silkie Buddy; brother-in-law Robert Moore; sisters-in law Sister Helen Moore SNJM, Agnes Brown and Frances McCall; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, no services will be held.
