Charles Edgar (Ed) Rayon, 83, died November 14, 2014 at Evergreen The Dalles Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by wife Charlotte Florella (Flo) Rayon and beloved dog Zippy Lou; three children – Debbie (and Dan) Roberts, David Rayon and Janet Hickman; four grandchildren – Kelly Miller, Amy (and Darren) Fricke, Alicia (and Jason) Stebin and Brenna (and Kyle) Heyne; and seven great-grandchildren – Kyle (and Sarah) Fricke, Nyah Hickman, Macy Stebin, Greyson Heyne, Beau Fricke, Jerrek Stebin and Hannah Fricke.
Born in Talala, Oklahoma, Ed Rayon spent all of his adult life in the Pacific Northwest (Hood River, Spokane, Moro and The Dalles).
Ed had three brothers and four sisters. Ed owned a successful restaurant in Moro, Oregon until he moved to The Dalles in 1975. In The Dalles, Ed owned and ran a successful storm window company for many years and was able to retire at a relatively young age.
Ed was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodcutting. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at home or on family vacations by motorhome across the country.
An informal gathering will be held at Ed and Flo’s home at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 23, 2014.
