Janice Irene Minson was born in Ft. Scott, Kansas on January 23, 1946 to Naomi Lavonne (West) and Archie Lee Cox. At a young age she moved with her family to Troutdale and then to The Dalles.
Janice was a member of the first graduating class at Wahtonka High School in 1964. She attended beauty school and practiced on her children, who remember getting a lot of perms. Mrs. Minson liked spending time with her kids, knitting, crocheting, gossiping and listening to her scanners.
Janice passed away at her home in The Dalles on November 5, 2014 at the age of 68. She is survived by her children Kenneth Lindsey of Salem, Oregon, Jeannie Barker of The Dalles and Darla McKee of Gresham, Oregon; brother Richard Cox of Cascade Locks, Oregon; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband James Minson.
