Doris Confer was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania on November, 20th, 1924. She passed away peacefully at Alaska Gardens Care Facility in Tacoma, Washington with her family by her side.
Doris married the love of her life, J. Verl Confer, on April 7, 1946 in San Benito, Texas. When Verl was discharged from the Air Force, they settled in his hometown of Maupin, Oregon, on Juniper Flat. They farmed for many years, moved to The Dalles, Oregon, then on to Gridley, California.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband Verl, in September 1983; sons Chris and David Confer; parents Earl and Bernice Stickler; and brothers Raggie Stickler, Tiny Stickler and Alan Stickler.
Doris is survived by her daughter Diane Confer Whitesel and her husband Dale of Bethel, Washington; grandson Chris Whitesel and his wife Julie of Puyallup, Washington; and brother James Stickler and his wife Barbra of Florida.
Mom was spunky, positive, full of life and showed great kindness. Her beautiful blue eyes and sweet smile will be forever missed.
No services will be held, as per her wishes. Doris will be laid to rest with her beloved Verl in Gridley, California.
