Violet Mae Wilson, 87, a long time resident of The Dalles, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on October 26, 2014.
She was born June 26, 1927 in Everett, Washington. She was the second of five children born to Clarence Leigh and Jennie DeGraaf. She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Stephen Wilson and son, Clarence “Clancy’ Allen.
She was a longtime member of the Eagles. She loved hunting, fishing, goldmining and caring for animals. She also enjoyed laughing, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Violet is survived by her sisters Dorothy Griffith, The Dalles, and Betty Clark of Dufur, her children Steve and Arlene Allen, Sandra and Larry Peterson, Jerry and Alaina Wilson; Jeff Wilson and Charla Kozelisky, and George Allen, Olivia Mark Vogel and Sara Windsor, Zack and Malia Wilson, and Gage and Cole Wilson, as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at I.O.O.F. on Cherry Heights Rd. on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 12 p.m., with Lloyd Commander officiating; immediately followed by a celebration of life at the Eagles Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Violet Mae to Home to Home at Last and Meals on Wheels of The Dalles.
