Frances Wilberg passed away in a local care facility October 18, 2014.
She was born July 17, 1915, in Portland, Oregon to Leslie and Era (Blineo) Martin.
When she was six years of age, the family moved to The Dalles, where she attended local schools, graduating from The Dalles High School in 1933.
She then moved to Portland and was employed at Meier & Frank. She met and married her husband, Joseph Duvic, in November, 1936.
They and their family lived in LaGrande, Portland and The Dalles, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington.
After her husband’s death in 1967, she worked in Vancouver, Wa., at different retail stores and retired from Clark Junior College’s registration office in 1986.
In 1989, she married Walter Wiberg and moved to Seattle, Wa., until his death in 2005. In 2006, she moved back to The Dalles, where she resided at The Springs at Mill Creek.
She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star and a 61-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing for many events in her lifetime.
She loved attending concerts, plays, traveling and spending time with her family. She also attended Gateway Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children, Mary Jo Taylor, Carolyn Golliday and Gregory (April) Duvic; grandchildren Lynda (Rod) Petersen, Ed Carder and partner Mike Gower, Kim (Greg) Johnson, Kevin (Kasey) Lambert, Karen (Mike) Blok, Jenn Swinger and Becca (Jason) Seville; 11 great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husbands, daughter Margaret Baxter and great granddaughter Leslie Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. at Wilhelm’s Memorial Funeral Home at 6705 S.E. 14th Avenue in Portland, Ore.
Memorials may be made to the Order of Eastern Star or the P.E.O. Sisterhood.
