Mary Miller Moore, 95, a resident of The Dalles, Oregon died Tuesday, March 31, 2015.
Mary was born July 22, 1919 in Sunset, Louisiana, the seventh of nine children to Napoleon and Lucille (Quibideaux) Miller. She was raised and educated in Louisiana and she spoke French in the household and was educated in English. On September 29, 1943 she and Claude W. Moore were married. They came to The Dalles in the early 1950’s and then to Mosier after retirement. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Mosier Grange. Mary was a seamstress and an excellent Cajun cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband Claude and her son William.
Mary is survived by her sons, Jim (Melinda); Terry; Dale (Donna) and Richard (Cindy); and her sister Manola Stout. Nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 6th from 2 p.m. until 5:00 PM at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
