Larry Allan Shannon, 67, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., passed away peacefully at The Oregon Veteran’s Home Friday, April 3, 2015.
Larry was born March 5, 1948 in Yakima, Wash., the second of three children to James and Pearl (Brown) Shannon. He was raised and educated in The Dalles, Ore. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966, serving two tours in Vietnam where he was wounded and was 100% disabled.
Larry is survived by one son, Larry Jr; four grandchildren, Haley, Payton, Sophie and Jaxon; two brothers and their wives, Ron and Sue of Longview, Wash., and Ken and Linda of Sherwood, Ore.; numerous aunts and uncles in The Dalles and his beloved dog Missy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home, followed by graveside services with Military Honors at 2 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Threemile Cemetery.
