Jadine Alberty passed away on April 20, 2015 in The Dalles, Ore. She was born to W. Robert & Freda (Anderson) Haynes on June 29, 1929 in Tulsa, Okla.
Jadine married Melvin W. Alberty on March 8, 1948, in Grove, Okla. Later that year, they moved to Grass Valley, Ore., where they farmed from 1948 until 1987. During that time, they raised three children: Melva, Jerry and Jim. As a full time wife and mother, she was a wonderful cook and took great pride in her large garden. The freezer was always filled with fresh chicken which she raised each year and the pantry was well stocked with homemade jams, jellies, and canned fruits and vegetables. As an avid collector, she loved to attend yard sales, auctions and peruse antique stores in search of that special treasure. In the 1980's she became interested in collecting baseball cards along with other sports memorabilia and had fun attending baseball card shows with her grandsons. In her later years, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and had a very special love for her little Chihuahua "Mondo."
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jerry Dale Haynes, James L. Hilliard, Curtis R. Hilliard, step-father James C. Hilliard and husband Melvin W. Alberty.
She is survived by her brother: Ernest Ray Hilliard, Wyandotte, Okla.; sisters Joyce Rosser, Newport News, Va., Carol Pritchard, Grove, Okla.; daughters Melva D. Thomas (Kent), Wasco, Ore., Jerry Maynard, Live Oak, Fla., son: Jim Alberty, Grass Valley, Ore.
