Treva Arlene Mayfield passed away on July 17, 2015 at eighty-nine years old. She entered the world on December 18, 1925, one of five children born to Burch and Marie Clark in Concordia, Kansas.
Treva married Warren Leo Mayfield in 1942 and together raised five children of their own: Larry Mayfield, Linda Ogland, Sherry Meyer, Pennie Rooper and Tina Schacher. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979 and all four of her siblings. Thereafter, she spent her time taking care of many foster children at her country home where she lived for almost fifty years just south of The Dalles.
When Treva’s own health began to fail in 2002, she moved in with her daughter and devoted caregivers, Pennie & Dave, who lived only a quarter mile away from the farm she knew and loved. Treva is survived by all five of her children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, plus three great great grandchildren.
Treva’s primary love throughout most of her adult life was in the many family gatherings, as she loved cooking, canning and baking for all the big meals over the holidays. On one occasion she called a son-in-law to come help knead the dough for 17 loaves of bread she was going to bake, including many dinner & cinnamon rolls. May she rest in peace as she will be missed by many.
