Larry Allan Hayes, 63, a resident of Tygh Valley, Ore., died at home Wednesday, August 5, 2015.
Larry was born May 30, 1952 in Prineville, Ore., the youngest son of Sam and Juanda (Gould) Hayes. He was raised in Tygh Valley, Ore., graduating from South Wasco County High School in Maupin in 1970. On April 8, 1988 he and Lillus Darlene Wentz were married in The Dalles, Ore. Larry had worked for many years as a logger and heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed rodeos and volunteering, fishing, camping, and watching baseball.
He is survived by his wife Darlene of Tygh Valley, Ore.; daughter Bobbie Collins and her husband Clay of Webb City, Mo.; brother Dan Hayes and his wife Mary of Selah, Wash.; step-father Jack Taylor of Tygh Valley, Ore.; sister in law Dawn Hayes of Tygh Valley, Ore.; nieces and nephews Jaime LeCuyer, Travis Cox, Wacey Hayes, Marti Hayes-Frederick and Angie Dankenbring. Many great nieces and nephews, family and friends from the mid-west to the west coast and two Chihuahuas that loved him dearly, Missy D and Bubba S.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Sam Hayes, mother Juanda Taylor, brother Ed Hayes and other friends, family and pets.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Tygh Valley Cemetery, with fellowship at Tygh Valley Community Center.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation Cardiac Fund.
