Patrick Linvill Ellis passed away unexpectedly in his home on August 14, 2015 as a result of a cardiac event. He was 51 years old.
Born on April 18, 1964 in The Dalles to Evan and Ellen Ellis, Patrick was a life-long Oregon resident. He was a graduate of Dufur High School and Oregon State University. Combining his interest in history with his knowledge of the local area, Patrick worked for The Dalles Chamber of Commerce, the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center and most recently at the Original Wasco County Courthouse.
Though not a skater himself, Patrick particularly enjoyed Olympic figure skating. He was also an avid baker and cook. Patrick was adept with genealogy, researching his own family and assisting others with genealogic pursuits. He enjoyed movies of all kinds and travel.
Patrick is survived by his mother of The Dalles, his sister and brother-in-law Becky and Mike Morgan of Lebanon, brothers and sisters-in-law Nick and Susie Ellis of Milton-Freewater and Don Ellis and Nacole Barth-Ellis of Aptos, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held August 23 at 2 p.m. at the Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home, 1100 Kelly Ave., The Dalles. Memorial contributions can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation Northwest, 5251 NE Glisan St., #A338, Portland, OR 97213.
