Richard “Dick” Alan Lindley

Dick, age 64, passed away at his home in Tygh Valley, Oregon on January 31, 2015. He was the second of four children of Lee and Ruth Lindley of Maupin, Oregon.
Dick was raised on his family’s ranch in Bakeoven, Oregon, southeast of Maupin. He attended school at Maupin Grade School, Wasco County Union High School and Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande, Oregon where he received a BS in Education.
Dick met the love of his life, Cecelia “Sis” Anne Gehley at Eastern Oregon State College. They were married in Vale, Oregon on September 16th of 1972. Dick and Sis Lindley moved back to Bakeoven, Oregon and raised their two hard working sons Daniel and Douglas.
Dick loved his family, friends and life on the ranch. Dick’s favorite hobby was loving on his four wonderful grandchildren. Dick enjoyed any conversation with anyone and he always enjoyed hearing other’s stories. He also enjoyed music and playing the trombone in the Wasco County Union High School Pep Band for over 20 years.
Dick is survived by his loving mother Ruth Lindley; his sister Rhonda Townsend and her husband Ron; his brother Bill Lindley and his wife Cheryl; and his sister Mary Ann Standage.
Dick leaves behind his beloved wife Sis Lindley; his son Daniel Lindley and his wife Faith and grandson Andrew; his son Douglas Lindley and his wife Stephanie and grandchildren Joelee, Anson and Samual.
Dick is also survived by his in-laws Butch and Marjery Gehley; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his father Anson Lee Lindley; his father and mother-in-law Charles and Benancia Gehley; brother-in-law Bob Standage and nephew Matthew Standage
A Celebration of Life for Dick Lindley will be held in the South Wasco County High School Gym on February 8th, at one o’clock in the afternoon with a dessert only potluck to follow in the high school cafeteria. Donations can be made to the South Wasco County Ambulance in memory of Dick Lindley.
