Jean Landers Kuhlman passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles, Oregon. She was 91 at the time of her passing.
Jean was born in Shamrock, Texas on November 6, 1923 to Frances Bartow and Thelma (Rogers) Landers. She lived in Texas, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho and Oregon.
On November 5, 1943 Jean married Daniel Herman Kuhlman in Raton, New Mexico and to their union were blessed with four children; Rebecca, Ramona, Steven and Robin. The family lived in Tygh Valley, La Grande, and Silverton, Oregon.
Jean had many friends and family. “Our mom was a fun and wild woman who loved her truck.” She had many hobbies and interests but really enjoyed Indian artifacts, camping, walking her mule, embroidery, drawing and painting, and taking pictures of old buildings and wildlife.
She is survived by her sons; Steven Kuhlman and Robin Kuhlman; daughter, Ramona New and her husband, Thomas; grandson, Daniel New and his wife, Beth; granddaughter, Stacy Stubblefield; great grandchildren, Danielle Ann New, Brandan Earl New, Dillan James Stubblefield, Kenzie Jean Stubblefield; and a host of friends she has collected over the years and other distant family. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter (Rebecca Roemer) and sister (Loyce Murray).
A memorial service will be held at the Legion Hall in Maupin, Oregon at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015.
