A longtime resident of The Dalles, Harold passed away after a short illness.
Harold loved classical music and was an avid climber, having summited his beloved Mt. Hood forty-eight times. He took long walks every day until his health began to fail. He enjoyed traveling and good wine, which took him to vineyards in the Willamette Valley and as far away as France and Germany. He loved cats, playing blackjack, and a cold beer or two in the afternoon. He was loved by family and friends, and will be missed.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Herbert Henecke and Florence (Jorgensen) Henecke, uncles Harold, Art, Clyde, and James Jorgensen, and aunts Ida (Jorgensen) Brooks, and Alice (Jorgensen) Tramby. He had no siblings.
Harold is survived by aunt May (Jorgensen) Cross of The Dalles, cousins Danny Schammel of North Dakota, and Sandra (Schammel) Brown of Arizona; aunt Betty (Fuller) Jorgensen of Texas, cousins Eugene Jorgensen of Illinois, Patricia (Jorgensen) Feldman of Maine, and Janet (Jorgensen) Tanner of Colorado; and aunt Nina (Jorgensen) Beckman of Nebraska, cousins Michael Beckman of Nebraska, Mitchell Beckman of Maryland, and Linda Beckman of Nebraska; and several other cousins.
