Jimmie B. Brown age 70 a resident of The Dalles, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday December 10th, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Jim was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 25th 1944 to Erma (Olinger) and Burges Brown. He was the 4th out of 5 children. When Jim was young his family moved to Los Vanis, California where he joined the Navy. He later returned to Ventura, California after his completion in the service. He started working as an auto repair man and became an underwriter for the automotive industry. Jim moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1975 where he continued to work as an underwriter. While attending Faith Center Church in Eugene Jim met and married Janet Bourland in 1987. The couple moved to The Dalles, Oregon in 1991 where Jim worked for Thomas Motors, K and H Specialties, and Fast Auto Repair until his retirement.
Jim was a well respected and longtime member of The Celilo Bowmens Club. He was not only known for his many accomplishments as an expert bowman but for his passion to help others along the way. He had many dear friends there that became family through the years. Jim was a member of Life Line Baptist Church and loved The Lord with all his heart. This was evident in his compassion for others and willingness to always lend an encouraging word. He was a witness to the end.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great grand children, one brother, and two sisters. All will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held later this spring. Spencer, Libby and Powell are in care of the arrangements.
