Frances Mae Denney, 95, a resident of The Dalles, passed away at a local care facility on Saturday, January 24, 2015.
She was born in Macon, Missouri on January 31, 1919, the fourth of seven children to, Luther Melvin and Mattie Lee (Cupp) Chrisman. She met Ed E. Denney in Missouri, where they were married on December 21, 1934. They travelled and worked in several towns through the country, while Ed was employed as a welder and heavy construction mechanic. They settled in The Dalles in 1952, when he went to work on the construction of The Dalles and John Day dams.
Frances was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Eagles. She enjoyed quilting, playing pinochle and bingo and going to The Dalles Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Cleola Crawford and her husband Paul of Amarillo, TX, her son, Gary Denney and his wife Wendy and her son-in-law Ray Laue, all of The Dalles; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed E. Denney on November 15, 1995 and her daughter, Janice Laue.
Viewing visitation will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 9am to 1pm at Spencer, Libby ad Powell Funeral Home, followed by a Graveside services at 2pm at IOOF Threemile Cemetery in The Dalles.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or The Dalles Senior Center.
