James E. “Ed” Roark, 59, a resident of The Dalles, Ore., died at home May 27, 2015.
James was born June 29, 1955 in The Dalles, Ore., the oldest child of James and Wanda (Wilson) Roark. He was raised and educated in The Dalles, attending Chenowith Grade School and Wahtonka High School and playing Little League baseball. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked with his father for many years as a mason and then was a supervisor at DecoWest, Inc before becoming disabled and retiring. He enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, fishing, gardening, visiting with friends, a good game of horseshoes, and sampling homemade goodies, especially chocolate chip cookies, brownies and strawberry jam.
Survivors include nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts in The Dalles, North Carolina and Delaware.
Graveside service with Military Honors will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the I.O.O.F. Threemile Cemetery. Pastor Les Haarstad officiating.
