Joan died peacefully in her home on July 22, 2015. She was surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Dennison, Texas and raised in Frederick, Okla., where she met and married Louie Floyd Ellis and had four children.
Joan has lived in Dallesport, Wash., and The Dalles, Ore., from 1952 to the present.
Joan’s husband Louie Floyd Ellis Sr., her son Louie Floyd Ellis Jr. (Sonny), preceeded her in death.
Joan was survived by her companion of 14 years Donald Gregory, her daughter Shirley Ann Ellis, her daughter Cleta J. Morris and her husband Bob Morris, her son Joe Ellis and his wife Wanda Ellis and 37 grandchildren.
She was a loving mother and Grandmother and will forever hold a place in the hearts of all those she left behind.
Joan was baptized at the Church of Christ in The Dalles, Ore., and was an active member of the Senior Center in The Dalles for 33 years and enjoyed coordinating and hosting fashion shows for 13 years.
She enjoyed dancing, fishing and family poker games. Services will be held at Spencer Libby and Powell Funeral Home, 1100 Kelly Ave. The Dalles, Ore., on July 24, 2015 at 2 p.m.
