Wendy Erickson Swift was born July 23, 1959, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada to Rose Falk and Andrew Erickson. She departed this life on June 5, 2015 in her home due to heart complications. Wendy is survived by her husband of 31 years: Raymond Swift, her daughter: Alicia Swift, siblings: Patrick Erickson, Lloyd Erickson, Ruth Leslie, Alfred Erickson and Robert Erickson. She was preceded in death by parents: Andrew Erickson and Rose (Erickson) Duerson, and brother: Brian Erickson. Although this is not an all-encompassing list, Wendy has many other family members and touched the lives of so many.
Wendy’s home was always open to her family, friends and specifically to Jordan Showalter, Jason Erickson, Jennifer Erickson and Kelley Erickson.
Wendy was known for her on-point and fiery personality, green thumb, and excellent cooking skills. She had a love for animals and spent her free time camping, strolling the Oregon coast and spending time with family and friends.
Wendy lived her adult life in The Dalles, Oregon and began her working career as a server in various locations but would be remembered most from The Pancake House. She transitioned to the banking industry in the late 1990’s, starting at Bank of America and most recently at Washington Federal. Wendy enjoyed volunteering with the Theatre Company, Humane Society and other organizations in the community.
A celebration of life will be held at the Swift residence: 680 Brentwood Drive, The Dalles, OR 97058 on June 13, 2015 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. This will be a potluck style event so please bring a favorite dish and beverages to share. Come share your stories and memories of this extraordinary woman.
