Patrick K. Martin, 67, was born in Portland, Ore., in 1947, to parents Lucille and Willard Martin. He died on May 31, 2015 in The Dalles, Ore., after a long illness.
Pat attended Wilson High School and worked on the wheat ranches of his uncles in Morrow and Sherman counties. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married and also raised a son Gabriel Martin. He was a business manager, builder, and outdoor enthusiast and traveled widely. He was an excellent and devoted golfer and a member of several golf clubs including Pueblo Del Sol, Rose City, and The Dalles Country Club.
He built a second home in Southeast Arizona and married Kathleen (Jones) Martin in 2002. Kathleen and Patrick lived together in The Dalles, Ore., and Arizona. They explored, camped and hiked together in all the western states.
Patrick is survived by his wife Kathleen Martin, The Dalles, Ore., his son Gabriel Martin, daughter-in-law Laura, and grandsons Andrew, Jack and Levi of Bellingham, Wash., cousin Bob Martin of Moro, Ore., cousins Janice Wheelhouse of Pilot Rock, Ore., father-in-law F. Nolan Jones and his wife Debra of The Dalles, Ore., and other dear friends and family living in Arizona, Oregon and Washington.
A Celebration of Life gathering to remember Pat will be held at United Church of Christ Congregational, 111 E. 5th St., The Dalles, OR, July 11th, 2015 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Providence Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles, OR 97058 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
