Julie Lee Wood, 54 of Gresham, Ore., passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015. She was born on October 19, 1960 in Phoenix, Ariz., to Schuyler and Jeanrita (Alderfer) Hinman. She graduated from The Dalles High School in 1978 and from Mt. Hood Community College in 1980 with an Associate Degree. Julie married Scott Allen Wood on July 17, 1982 in The Dalles, Ore.
Julie worked for over 30 years in legal services before her retirement in 2011. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and loved flowers, antiques, gardening, birds and time spent with her family and friends. Julie shared her antique treasures with others in a space over the last four years at All Things Beautiful in downtown Gresham.
Julie is survived by her husband Scott Wood of Gresham, Ore.; daughters Sara Tarne (Chris) of Long Beach, Calif., and Kim Wood of Portland, Ore., and sister Laura Farrell (Steve) of Portland, Ore. Father-in-law Jack Wood (Dona), brother-in-law Jeff Wood, sister-in-law Mary Gale, nieces and nephews Andrew and Katie Farrell, Jennifer Conti, Jenny Dixon, Andrew and Jessica Wood.
A Celebration of Julie's Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 120 SW Towle Ave, Gresham, Oregon. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to SnowCap Community Charities at www.snowcap.org or by sending donations to PO Box 160, Fairview, OR 97024. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
